From November 10 to 21, 2025, the Families for Climate movement will present the photo exhibition “My Family Is at the COP” and a workshop for educators in Belém, Brazil, at the Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Basic Education (CISEB). The activities are part of the CISEB program at COP30, the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
The exhibition features images submitted by mothers and fathers from different countries, portraying the connection between childhood, nature, and hope in times of climate crisis. Inspired by the Paris Climate March of 2015—when thousands of pairs of shoes symbolized the absence of protesters prevented from marching—the exhibition highlights the power of civil mobilization and collective responsibility in the face of global challenges.
“We want leaders to put themselves in the place of the children who will inherit this planet,” say the organizers and volunteers of the movement, Clara Ramos, Daniela Vianna, Mariana Menezes, and Samantha Proença.
In addition to the exhibition, on November 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the workshop “Climate Education: A Practical Guide for Families and Educators” will be held, aimed at teachers and education professionals. The session will present the guide developed in partnership with the Schools for Climate Network and the Planetary Health Brazil Network (IEA/USP), offering practical suggestions for bringing the climate crisis topic into school life. Admission is free, with mandatory pre-registration at https://sites.google.com/seduc.pa.gov.br/casaeduc.
The Families for Climate mothers are also part of the Mothers Delegation of Our Kids’ Climate, an international network that brings together parent-led movements advocating for a livable future for children. The full delegation schedule at COP30 can be viewed here.
Along with the support of Our Kids’ Climate, which collaborated in collecting the images and funding the project, the program also has institutional support from the Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Basic Education (CISEB), part of the Government of the State of Pará, which provided the venue for the activities.
